300 word research proposal due tomorrow. But all I want to do is nap.

Spent the morning with the dog. Went to hillcrest farmers market, dog park at balboa, grandma’s memorial park and finally picked up Filipino food that I have been craving.

Ella did something at the memorial park that I have been thinking about. I tugged her to go and she stood on my grandma’s headstone and spread her paws like she didn’t want to leave just yet. It sounds stupid but I think she gets it.

To end in a fun note, here we are at dog park!

i know it will never be!  but last night’s episode really made all the bleh from the last two season’s worth it (stella and zoey, I’m talking about you fools).

he loved her the whole time! wahhhhh

the last 5-6 years were perfectly architected for this moment.  (yes i meant those puns!!!)

I’m one of those .. “when I’m on a roll” people.

Our ladder desk came in today.  This is the first time in a long time that I’ve had a computer desk! (No more computer on the kitchenette table).

Here are the fruits of my labor …

I’ve unpacked all the picture frames, moved all the boxes from behind the couch so we could put the desk up, put up my ‘belafonte’ picture and unpacked the record player / receiver.  You can see it on the ladder shelf taking up the bottom two shelves.

I’m tired ! It’s raining! But I really wanted to do this! So important to start to make this spot feel like our home :)

Eeek! all our snowboarding gear is outside in one of those plastic tubs.  I put a plastic runner over it… Hopefully our gear is ok!!!  But I wouldn’t mind getting a new jacket!

Everything is still a mess and I had to email these pictures to myself from my phone since I can’t find my usb adapter.

The top 3 are from the old apartment and the bottom 3 are from the new apartment.  It looks the same because it was the same builder!!!  We did our own accent walls in the new apartment — it had bare white rental unit walls.

Some new purchases are the ladder shelf, since we lost the shelving in the dining area which I loved for picture frames.  And we have a new ladder desk that is on it’s way from amazon.

Oh and we lost pantry space (but gained a storage closet) so I bought the Ikea island for $60 to make some extra room in the cupboards.

My next purchase will probably be more area rugs to make the place feel less apartment-y.  It’s a rental condo (just like the last one) but the owners haven’t invested into making it feel “homey” like our last place so I’m glad they let us paint.  I’m reading a lot of apartment therapy blogs! but most of those apartments are hardwood floors.

So we are moving again … I know I said my goal was to move this year (preferably to a hipper part of town and maybe an apartment with dark hardwood floors and walls we would paint gray) … but this move was a little anticipated as our landlord has decided to sell so we just wanted to find a place asap.

At least we upgraded !  We have one extra bedroom, one extra parking spot and a better better better gym which we may actually use!  We don’t have a ridiculous visitor parking policy anymore, so friends please come visit!

My first purse review slash what’s in my bag.  A little bit corny… but I wanted to share. These are two longchamp totes that I bought because they’re durable, waterproof and a little easy on the pocketbook.

To the left is the medium orange tote.  The medium is the size that everyone seems to have.  It retails at $145 and the largest items I fit are my coupon binder (hello couponing), laptop and 2 peacoats (not all at the same time, but you get the idea).  It’s a great mom bag, and since I feel fat all the time, this bag hides my muffin top ;) which I like.

However, I rarely carry around a laptop or multiple peacoats!  Most of what I have is here

1) moist face wipes

2) coach glasses case with my old glasses

3) oliver peoples case for my new glasses ;)

4) coach wristlet from my cousins that i use as a wallet

5) black makeup bag from my mom that has my tissues, shea butter (L’occitane gift from Dean’s parents), make up forever lip gloss, bare minerals mini brush, daisy roller stick from jazmin, minted rose lib balm, hello kitty lip gloss, clarins sunscreen, eye drops and a hair  tye.

All of this fits nicely into the small longchamp with room to spare!  My only peeve is that I have gotten way used to carrying the larger version, so the small one feels too small but it is very efficient and is easier to grab things that I need.  Also, the bags also look better when they are semi full.  I plan to carry the black one when I dress more colorful and the orange one when I’m wearing grays / blacks.

While they might be a little played out on the college campuses, I am long out of undergrad :P and I carry this at work and everyone thinks it’s just a regular tote bag.  But I do plan to carry the larger one to USC when I typically take the train to beat traffic so I need a bag that can fit laptop, jacket, lunch since I don’t have a car to go to/from.  So it will be drowned in a sea of longchamps but that’s ok!

At this point in my life, I really don’t need a flashy bag.  My dream bag is an LV bag or wallet because the damier ebony prints are gorgeous, but I just don’t need one right now :)

i just bought this online at nordstroms (total $136) … gah… I have a large orange one. Been mulling this purchase over for a week.  Things just get LOST in my large size so I wanted a small black one for when I’m not hauling books or laptops.

By the way .. I have watched SOOOOO many “what’s in my bag” you tubes. “So toddaaayyyy I wanted to a what’s in my bag … this is a great everyday bag…. “

after visiting my uncle at the hospital (he’s doing better! scheduled to checkout), we saw a very tiny train. as you can see, adventures ensued and yes, that is the 500 days of summer bench.  it was quite a pleasant find on a very sunny december day.

Well for the most part.

Our last assignments are submitted. Now it’s just up to our AMAZING team to take care of the last bugs I sent. Our project is still pretty buggy but for what was really 2 weeks of development and test – what do you expect!

Overall — looking back there weren’t as many sleepless nights as I dramatically implied. I did have trouble balancing work / school and my tv viewing but in the end … I had a great team !!! I’m a little nervous that the team I will be put on next will not be as good.

So glad to be (done)! But not gonna feel that great until the final grades are out!

We are still picking up the PS3 move tonight!
