aziz on a whim!

Since Dean ditched me on Saturday because he was trying to fully kick his cold, I wasn’t sure if I was still going to go to watch Aziz Ansari.

It’s 10:50 ish and I’m passing the Irvine Improv on my way back home, and I decided, balls to the wall, let’s go see Aziz! (And by let’s, I mean just me!)

So I get to the Improv and it’s sold out. I consider turning around but maybe just maybe there is someone selling ticket’s because their bum friend didn’t show up.

No such luck.

But I walk up to the booth and say — hey I’m flying solo, is there any chance I can get a ticket ? And they say — YES, just get on the waiting list!

So I’m a little skeptical… all three shows were sold out … what good will a waiting list do ? Maybe I have an edge because there’s only one of me (put me anywhere!) but of the 11 people on the waitlist .. all 11 of us get in!

Sweet! I pay my $26 and I get in to watch Aziz !!! The first guy, Neil Brannan specializes in racial jokes, he was one of the co-creators of the Chappelle Show. He didn’t have me in stitches but he was pretty funny, and he did a UC Irvine shoutout.

Then comes Aziz, dressed in a delicious suit!! (Am I so in love with Aziz, I am!). His whole sketch is about relationships but sorta backwards. First he talks about babies… who has a baby? Your life sucks after you have a baby. 16 and pregnant is the saddest show. 25 and pregnant would be a sad show too..

He goes backwards and starts to talk about married couples. All the couples he interviews are lame. Not funny at all. Then we start talking about dating. It’s like the backwards evolution of relationships. From babies to dating.

Part of me thinks Aziz is looking for love (Aziz, I’m here) – this sketch was about him talking to people, finding out how they met. So good so funny! So glad I went!
