So many birthdays! (And actually a birth birth day! Welcome to the world Mateo!)

This September is going to go by so fast, I can tell (do we find ourselves saying that about every month though !?)

This month especially.. school accelerates everything too. I caved and ordered a laptop battery. Never would I be so frickin’ excited about 45% !!! Now I don’t have to look for an outlet everywhere I go.

I trekked up to campus on Monday to meet my group. I probably didn’t have to, but I wanted to. (It is a 200 mi round trip!! goodness!!!).  Beautiful campus (not the engineering side though.. looks like Langson library yuck!).  But school of cinema – nice.

What else is going on this month ??? So many shows are back! Here is what I am going to be watching this season.

• Parenthood
• New Girl
• Glee
• How I Met Your Mother
• Up All Night
• and whatever version of the kardashians is on (KKTNY or KUWTK or Klomar)

So I thought Software Engineering I was going to look like Software Engineering I, bookwork, tests, etc.  NOPE!  It is a project class where I have to be on a team (a lot like my 125 class which was one of my favorite classes actually). This is a case of – Someone didn’t read the syllabus!!!! And just tried to get Fall courses out of the way!!!!

The cool part is there are 3 professors that teach the course and one of them is Barry Boehm – aka big deal software guy.

This seemed like a good time to clear out my old posts. My last few posts were getting blah! I’m hoping a clean slate will rejuvenate me!

Next Monday I start grad school at USC (if you can call online/part-time classes “grad school” :P).

I haven’t even attended one class yet and I’m already thinking of dropping the program if I get an offer from this startup company I applied to for fun (because I’ve never worked for a startup before).  The tech interview is next and it usually goes something like this …

• What are the types of JDBC Driver Models and explain them?
• Write a method to describe if 2 strings are anagrams
• Do all properties of an immutable object need to be final?

.. then I collapse and die over the phone! I don’t think I will get it.  The team is small so I know they will GRILL.  It will be my Amazon interview all over again.   I probably should know a lot of this stuff anyways but that’s like asking your post college self who’s been out of school for five years if you remember how to do MLA annotations.  Meh!

Oh I should probably also explain the picture above… it’s of Ella, my dog, my sidekick, my best buddy, at the Dusty Rhodes dog park in Pacific Beach.  She absolutely hates being there.  I wanted to post a picture though and I don’t have many relevant ones since my card reader has been busted.

Also I have to say big ups to the people who still blog regularly — anna liza, meech, fran and kit!  and of course the tumblrs i read angela and kirsten (my apologies if i forgot someone on the regular bloggin)
